Bruiser’s Bet: B-Zito is Back

August 7th, 2007 · No Comments

Those are the hands of dominance

It’s been awhile since the Bruiser has shown his face on parlayer but I am rested and ready to go as we have around 50 games left in the baseball season. I am 6-3 over my last 9 and a crazy 177-135-2 over my last 314 games. Let’s talk about B-Zito and his advantage in tonights game vs. the Nats.

Tonight I look at the Match-Up between the San Fransisco Giants and the Washington Nationals

1. Road Woes.
Washington has not faired that well on the road this season. They are 5-12 in their last 17 road games and 21-32 overall. A team that struggles on the road with the added pressure of all the media attention from Barry Bonds, that just screams trouble.

2. Prediction.
Mike Bacsik will forever be inked to the history books as he will give up Home Run No. 756 to Barry Bonds. There is too much pressure on this stage and I just see him giving up the ding to Barry Bonds and after that happens the game is guaranteed to be over.

Bruiser is taking the Giants (-143) over the Nats this evening

  • Take the Red Sox (-113) over the Angels
“Wakefield’s experience will lift the Bo-Sox over the Angels tonight.”
  • Take the D-Backs (-136) over the Pirates
“The D-Backs are 13-3 in their last 16 overall and the Pirates are 5-17 over their last 22. I like the numbers and the D-Backs advantage in this one.”

    July 28th, 2007 · No Comments

    Baseball

Last Saturday was yet another successful day as I went 2-1 and am now 5-2 over my last seven. That moves my record to 176-134-2 over my last 312. Today is another Saturday full of games so let’s not waste any time and get right to it.

    Bruiser’s Bets

  • Take the Red Sox (-117) over the D-Rays
“The Red Sox own the D-Rays this season and tonight will be no different.”
  • Take the Indians (+132) over the Twins
“The Indians have won the last 2 Johan starts this season and are a great value here today vs. the Twins ace.”

Bruiser’s Bet: 4 Hot Games on Tap Tonight

    July 20th, 2007 · No Comments

    Pujols Goes Yard

Well July 16th was nothing to brag about as Tom Gordon never even had a chance to enter the game considering the Phillies were down by 10 by the 6th inning but not to worry today is a new day and another chance to get back on track. That moves my record to 171-132-2 over my last 305 games. Today is a wonderful Friday so let’s get to the games.

    Bruiser’s Bets

  • Take the Reds (+128) over the Marlins
“The Marlins are winners on the road but one of MLB’s worst teams at home. Take the Reds in this one.”
  • Take the Indians (-139) over the Rangers
“No AL starter induces groundball outs more frequently than Carmona. Look for the Indians D to get the job done tonight.”
  • Take the Orioles (+102) over the A’s
“Erik Bedard the Orioles Ace takes the mound tonight and should get the W.”
  • Take the Astros (-108) over the Pirates
“Roy the boy Oswalt will pitch well against the Pirates tonight.”

Bruiser’s Bet: Welcome Back Tom Gordon

    July 16th, 2007 · No Comments

    The Phillies Missed You Tom

Before we begin today I must first apologize to everyone that looks to follow my picks here on parlayer. I had to take a break to gather my thoughts for the long summer ahead. I fell refreshed and ready to analyze and share my picks with you on a daily basis. Let’s not forget that I have gone 171-130-2 over my last 303 games cashing in over 57% of the time. If you have been with me for the long run you have dealt with the highs and lows but something that never changes and that is the cash you have in the bank because of this run. Let’s continue to pick those winners and bruise those bookies.

Today I look at the Match-Up between the Philadelphia Phillies and the L.A. Dodgers

    1. Scoring Runs is Key
Scoring runs is about the only thing that the Phillies have been able to depend upon this year and they are scoring a lot of them. In just the last 3 games since the All-Star break the Phillies have scored 25 runs. I look for them to jump all over the Dodgers tonight in L.A.

    2. Patty Burrell.
Pat Burrell has been a big boost to the Phillies lineup. He’s batting .312 with 10 RBIs so far this month and there is no sign of him slowing down.

    3. Welcome Back Tom.
The Phillies starting rotation is a bit of a mess but the bullpen will get a boost with the return of Tom Gordon. Knowing Tom is in the pen makes things a lot easier when looking to close out games.

Bruiser is taking the Phillies (+150) over the Dodgers tonight

    Bruiser’s Other Bets

  • Take the Mets (-107) over the Padres
“Jorge Sosa and a strong Mets lineup should take care of D. Wells and the Padres.”

Bruiser’s Bet: 2 Hot MLB Late Games Below

    July 5th, 2007 · No Comments

    MLB Logo

What a bummer the past couple of days have been. I haven’t been on the top of my game but that doesn’t mean that I am not one of the best cappers in the business. It’s all about winning over the long run and I have done that for you going 170-129-2 over my last 301 games. I have hit over 57% and have put cash in your pocket. Stick with me and I will prove to you once again why I am one of the best so let’s get to the late night MLB games tonight.

    Bruiser’s Bets

  • Take the A’s (-137) over the Mariners
“The Mariners are one tired team, not to mention they are 8-23 in their last 31 games in Oakland. Take the A’s and run with them.”
  • Take the Dodgers (-132) over the Braves
“Penny has been sick this year and tonight should be no different. Ride the Dodgers to the bank tonight.”

Bruiser’s Bet: Tigers Will Take Care of Business Tonight at Comerica Park

    July 3rd, 2007 · No Comments

Nate might just throw a No-No

Well last night was nothing to write home about as I was unable to capitalize on last night’s games. But there is no better day then the night before Independence day. It’s a time to celebrate our nations independence and win some cash. So let’s have a look at some games tonight that we can gain an edge on tonight. My record is now 170-127-2 over my last 299 games.

Today I look at the Match-Up between the Cleveland Indians and the Detroit Tigers

    1. You Can Win But Can You Win on the Road?.
Cleveland (50-32) has won five straight and seven of its last eight games - all at home - to open a two-game lead over the Tigers (47-33) in the Central. While the Indians are a major league-best 31-12 at home, they are just 19-20 away from Jacobs Field, the worst road record of any division leader except Milwaukee.

Bruiser is taking the Tigers (-120) over the Indians

    Bruiser’s Other Bets

  • Take the Cardinals (+123) over the D-Backs
“The D-Backs simply cannot win in St. Louis.”

Bruiser’s Bet: Sox Will Take Care of the Orioles Tonight in Chi-Town

    July 2nd, 2007 · No Comments

Will Buehrle be a Sox after tonight?

Now that’s the way to get back on track. I went 3-2 yesterday losing only my positive money lines cashing in a unit. I will never complain when I win but I need to step it up this week and prove to you all why I am one of the best in the business. After last night my record stands at 170-124-2 over my last 296 games. I see a couple mismatches today which will pay off big for us all tonight. So let’s get to it.

Today I look at the Match-Up between the Chicago White Sox and the Baltimore Orioles

    1. Buehrle has Looked Solid vs. the Orioles.
Mark Buehrle is 4-1 with a 2.54 ERA in seven career starts against the Orioles, and has given up only four runs - three earned - over 20 2-3 innings while winning his last three starts against the Orioles. I like these numbers against one of the worst teams in the league.

    2. Bedard Numbers are OK.
Bedard has won his last two starts in Chicago’s AL ballpark, and is 2-2 with a 3.86 ERA in five career starts overall against the White Sox. He has been solid lately but I just feel that Buehrle will out duel Bedard tonight.

Bruiser is taking the White Sox (-103) over the Orioles

    Bruiser’s Other Bets

  • Take the Mets (-113) over the Rockies
“Colorado is 1-9 in their last 10 overall.”
  • Take the D-Backs (-128) over the Cardinals
“Brandon Webb will pitch well in this one tonight.”

Bruiser’s Bet: Blue Jays Will Get it Done on Canada’s 140th B-Day

    July 1st, 2007 · No Comments

    Shaun Marcum

There is nothing better than a Sunday in June where there is a full slate of games to pick from. There are a lot of good match-ups today and a lot of opportunities to cash in on these games. I look to move my record (167-122-2 over my last 291) in a positive direction as we play a lot of games today looking to sweep the day and win some big money. There is not time to waste so let’s win some cash.

Today I look at the Match-Up between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Seattle Mariners

    1. Canada is 140 yrs old Today.
Toronto is 4-4 on July 1 since 1999 and has won the last three games played on the national holiday. During these three contests the Blue Jays have outscored opponents 34-4. It’s always nice to win on your nations B-Day and I don’t see anything stopping them tonight.

    2. Marcum has Been on the Mark.
Shaun Marcum once again hopes for some more run support when he takes the ball on Sunday. Marcum has a .194 opponent batting average and a 1.96 ERA in his last six starts, but is only 2-0 in those games. He has received one run or less of support in four of those outings, and on Tuesday he gave up one run, six hits and one walk in a season-high eight innings against Minnesota, but was denied a win, as Toronto lost 2-1 in 12 innings. The bats should come alive tonight for Marcum.

Bruiser is taking the Blue Jays (+103) over the Mariners

    Bruiser’s Other Bets

  • Take the White Sox (-111) over the Royals
“Jon Garland has looked strong in his last few starts and I look for him to take care of the Royals easily today.”
  • Take the Angels (-128) over the Orioles
“Lackey takes the mound for one of the best teams in baseball, you figure it out.”
  • Take the Cubbies (-110) over the Brew Crew
“The Cubs have found a way to win lately and today behind their ace it should be no different.”
  • Parlay the Tigers (-163) & the Red Sox (-170) {+156}
“Both teams should handle their business today.”

Bruiser’s Bet: Clemens Will Record Win #350 Tonight

    June 27th, 2007 · No Comments

    Roger the Rocket Clemens

King Felix got the job done as promised last night as the Mariners took down the Red Sox. That moves my record to 167-121-2 over my last 290. Let’s just get right to it today as I look for Clemens to get his 350th win tonight.

Today I look at the Match-Up between the N.Y. Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles

    1. It’s Time to Make History.
Roger Clemens will take the mound for the Yankees tonight looking for his 350th win of his career. This extra incentive should hopefully wake up the Yankee bats and I truly think it will.

    2. No Tejada.
The Orioles received some bad news Tuesday when they learned shortstop Miguel Tejada will likely be sidelined into August with a fractured left wrist. Tejada was batting .306 with seven homers and 41 RBIs this season. He played in 1,152 straight games - the fifth-longest streak in baseball history - before being placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday. This loss will hurt the Orioles tremendously not only tonight but all season.

    3. Success vs. the Orioles.
Clemens has 22 career wins against the Orioles which is the most among active pitchers. Clemens hasn’t pitched in Baltimore since a 6-3 win on Sept. 16, 2003, during his first stint with the Yankees but that is no reason not to ride the rocket tonight.

Bruiser is taking the Yankees (-135) over the Orioles
