Hey, I love heckling. It’s one of the most integral parts of attending a live game. But if someone on the road team gets injured from a cheap shot, and that player didn’t do anything to warrant the cheap shot (thus eliminating Claude Lemieux from eligibility), I don’t think you can really heckle the guy about his injury, especially if he’s bleeding. Obviously, this Colorado Avalanche fan didn’t get that memo when Steve Sullivan received a cheap slash to his face, prompting Sullivan to put on the proverbial red mask as good old Jim Ross would say. But obviously this fan hadn’t heard of the concept of karma. Maybe he should ask Claude Lemieux about that.
Check out Sullivan receive the aforementioned slash, score a goal, then seek out the same fan who was mocking his injury and stick it to him after he gets hurt in the crowd. The sheer timing of these events makes you think there is a higher power in the hockey world.
