Study this scene hard, Cynthia Rodriguez. There’s a high probability that you and Alex will be in front of the cameras for something like this soon, and if you play your cards right, it looks like you’re due for a $4 million ring…
Well, a few days ago I made the not-so-unique insinuation that Cynthia Rodriguez’s life course had a trajectory that was shaping up to be eeriely similar to that of Vanessa Bryant (Kobe’s wife). Apparently, that’s slightly more true than I initially realized. Mrs. A-Rod, who like Mrs. Bryant has been forced to endure the fact that everyone in America knows their significant others are out sleeping around more than the quarterback from ‘Playmakers‘, was recently spotted donning a shirt with everyone’s favorite four-letter noun, proper noun, adjective, adverb, and verb on it at Yankee Stadium. At the time, I joked that Cynthia’s shirt reeked of almost as much estrogen as her Avril Lavigne girl-power albums, and that her life was beginning to look way too similar to that of Vanessa Bryant’s from a few years ago.
Apparently the parallels between the two estranged spouses ran deeper than initially realized. It seems Mrs. Black Mamba wore a shirt sporting some words that one would most likely find on a Sopranos album or a DMX album, rather than on the t-shirt of the wife of one of most famous basketball players in the world. However, because the incident occurred in L.A., where it officially became legal for football stars to murder people in the mid-1990’s, nobody really cared about Vanessa’s exercising her 1st Amendment rights in the way she so chose.
I would surmise that if the A-Rod marriage keeps following the same path as the Bryant marriage, Cynthia’s in store for a phat $4 Million ring from A-Rod so she’ll forget about the busty blonde who’s captured Alex’s fancies (undoubtedly with her wit, charm, and intellect). After all, that’s what great husbands do - just ask Kobe.
