Bruiser’s Bet: Felix is Back on Track

June 26th, 2007 · 1 Comment

Felix the Cat

The Tigers struggled last night as their dreaded pitchers fielding problems popped up once again. It was the 4th inning when a tough shot went back up the middle to Bonderman as he went to throw to first he threw it wide allowing a run to score and the inning to continue. 2 more runs crossed the plate and it took the wind right out of the Tigers sails. That is just something in sports you just can’t control as a bettor. Well that moves my record to 166-121-2 over my last 289. We need to get back on track here and we will do just that with tonight’s winners.

Today I look at the Match-Up between the Seattle Mariners and the Boston Red Sox

1. Felix is Back.
Felix Hernandez snapped out of his poor stretch by scattering six hits over eight innings in a 3-0 win over Pittsburgh on Thursday. He was 0-2 with a 6.85 ERA in his previous four starts. He should keep up this good pitching against the Red Sox today.

2. Nice Numbers vs. the Sox.
Hernandez has a 1.13 ERA in his two starts against Boston, including a sparkling one-hitter in a 3-0 victory at Fenway Park on April 11. Hernandez also beat Boston last July 22, giving up two runs and four hits over seven innings in a 5-2 home victory. I like his numbers vs. the Sox.

Bruiser is taking Mariners (-130) over the Red Sox
