Eddie’s Money Bet: A Two-Game Parlay is Where It’s At: Tigers and ‘Stros Lock It Up

June 23rd, 2007 · No Comments

With the Braves not scoring a run in their last 3 games, Verlander might have a shot at another no-hitter this afternoon.

2-1 my last day and 8-2 overall in my last 10. Posts have been few and far between so far this summer season. However, that just means you should have plenty of cash saved up to lay down on my “money bets” for today. Let’s do this.

Two-Game MLB Parlay: Tigers and Astros +155
Well, is there really a hotter lineup than the Tigers? How Magglio Ordonez is currently 4th in outfield all-star voting astonishes me. According to ESPN.com he is currently ranked the best all-around player in the league. The main reason why you might be a little weary about this bet is due to the fact that both teams are on the road. No matter though. The Tigers send out the red hot Justin Verlander, and the Astros have their ace, Roy Oswalt on the bump. As for as road games go though, I mean the Astros are still in state, so it’s not like they traveled all across the country. The Rangers blew up for all sorts of runs yesterday, but I expect their bats too cool off with Oswalt bringing it this afternoon. The Tigers game should be a lock, Verlander clearly should look dominate compared to Kyle Davies (3-6). I’m not 200% confident in Houston, but with Oswalt on the hill I feel like a win should almost be certain.

What else I bet on today…

  • D’Backs -130 vs. Orioles: Take ‘Zona
The Orioles seem to be MLB’s whipping boy as of late, and things just seem to be in disarray.
  • Padres -122 vs. Bo Sox: Take the Padres
Seems like Tim Wakefield has been getting hit fairly hard this season.
