Forgive my lack of medical knowledge here, because I have no sort of pre-med, sports medicine, or, physical therapy background, or any other human anatomy knowledge for that matter. But I will go out on an extremely narrow limb and make the bold assertion that this is not the best way for a team trainer to assist an injured player.
I will suggest, however, that the form on that sliding kick would make Jeff Hardy proud. And if this debacle teaches us anything, it’s that perhaps Jim Leyland and Bobby Cox know what they’re doing when they where spikes as managers. You never see them fall embarrassingly when they run onto the field. Maybe it’s time that any person at all on the field be required to wear spikes. Then again, maybe the guy in the video hasn’t learned that whole concept of how to run yet, and it wouldn’t matter what sort of shoes he had on. Well, except that if he did have spikes and still managed to fall, I imagine it would matter a lot to this poor injured guy.
Except this is a soccer player, so there’s about a 97% chance the injury was fake and he deserves a kick to the head.
