Younger NBA fans may not remember when Shaquille O’Neal was on the Orlando Magic and breaking backboards and rims at a record pace from his earth-shattering dunks, but I’m old enough to remember it. Everytime Shaq left some poor scrub like Mark West or Oliver Miller covered in more glass than John McLane when Hans Gruber finally finds him in Nakatomi (you can see the scene I reference about 10 seconds into the clip), I remember being more awestruck than Mike Brown watching Gregg Popovich coach.
Anyway, here’s some minor league hockey player who’s earned the title “Shaq of hockey body checks”, even if this is his first shattered pane of glass. It’s just too good of a hit.
