Eddie’s Money Bet: Cavs Close Out Pistons at Home, Make NBA Finals for the First Time in Team History

June 2nd, 2007 · No Comments

Odds are pretty good Tayshaun will make it on another poster tonight.

1-1 on Thursday. I’ve been right on as of late with my NBA picks, but it’s MLB that has been giving me headaches. Unfortunately for us, there aren’t many NBA games left in the year. I’m still confident that things will turn around with baseball and we will have a profitable summer.

Cavs -1.5 vs Pistons
Unless you live in Cleveland, you are probably sick of hearing about LeBron James. About how his game 5 performance and where it ranks among all-time playoff performances. About how he was “Jordan-esque” in the 4th quarter and OT, and how the NBA has re-emerged from the depths of the post-Jordan era. James does deserve a lot of credit for hitting shot after shot and taking down the Pistons virtually 1 on 5. I wish I knew the odds of him being able to have that outstanding of a performance two straight games, but will he really need to? Isn’t it more likely that the supporting cast won’t possibly be as bad as they were in game 5? To me it is more likely that the 6 or so other guys that will see the floor will step up their game to a normal level, than it is likely that LeBron will have one of the best post-season performances of all-time. Wondering why I haven’t mentioned Detroit? It is because clearly they don’t control their own destiny like before. The game will not be won or lost by the Pistons, they are merely just spectators at this point. Game 6 is the Cavs to win or lose, the Pistons will just be there.
Take the Cavs -1.5

What else I bet on today…

  • White Sox -125 at Blue Jays
Contreras will help us make some bank today.
  • Senators -165 vs. Ducks
I like the Sens to get it done in a MUST-win tonight.
